To nurture healthy and productive relationships between schools, families, and communities.
To promote educational development of all young people.
With a common goal, to increase graduation rates for the three high schools, and later a fourth, located in the county - Tippecanoe Valley, Warsaw Community, Wawasee and Whitko schools - KC-ED was formed.
The idea was derived from a National Dropout Prevention Network Convention. Funded by grants and local business donations, mentoring programs and graduation coaches have been put in place at all four school systems.
The high school dropout dilemma is everyone's issue to attack and solve - the nation, communities, and schools - together! An American child drops out of high school every 26 seconds. Every school day, 7,000 students become dropouts (that's 1.2 million school aged students each year). Each dropout, over their lifetime, costs the nation nearly $260,000.
We are pleased to announce that KC ED is now a 501(c) 3 tax exempt organization. Your donation is tax deductible to the extent provided by Internal Revenue Code.
